Ezra Jack Keats “They were getting close to home when Ziggie finally dropped the rope” Final illustration for Regards to the Man in the Moon, 1981 |
i recently checked out this show at The Jewish Museum. it was fantastic to see the original paintings and collages. there were a lot of collaged elements in the paintings; swatches of fabric, shards of newspaper, scraps of magazines and ads and hand made marbled paper. at the end of the exhibition was a cute, little reading area that included his books and others'. it was great to see how the original pieces translated into books.
